MAE remembers 1948 alumnus Fred Dodge

Fred Dodge, a 1948 mechanical engineering alumnus of The Ohio State University, passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona, on September 22, 2021. Dodge received his BS in mechanical engineering from Ohio State. He was a Distinguished Alumnus awardee of the College of Engineering in 2008, and had a long and distinguished career at Honeywell Corporation from 1949 until his retirement from Honeywell in 1987 as Vice President of Technology and Production for Honeywell Europe.

Dodge held a number of other positions at Honeywell including Director and Staff Executive for the Building Controls Group, and Director of Engineering for the Commercial Division. In these positions, he supervised the design and installations of many process control and building control systems throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe and organized successful design teams from all Honeywell Divisions and affiliates for worldwide product designs.

Dodge volunteered with many civic organizations including the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Hospital, and his church. He is survived by his wife, Jean, his children and their families.
