The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace engineering is seeking ten mechanical and aerospace engineers to join the department. Current openings for faculty in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering are listed below.
1) Department Chair to provide leadership and vision in the department's research and education ranging from sustainable energy, nanotechnology, networking and nuclear engineering, along with their applications in myriad domains, including healthcare, manufacturing and transportation.
2 ) Tenure-track assistant or associate faculty position in the interdisciplinary fields of nonequilibrium hypersonic flows, high-enthalpy reacting flows, low-temperature plasmas, and advanced laser diagnostics.
3 ) Tenure-track assistant faculty position in the area of dynamic systems and control.
4 ) Tenure-track assistant faculty appointment in the area of dynamics, estimation and control of autonomous aerospace systems. This will be a split appointment, with a 75% appointment in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and 25% in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
5 ) Research faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of unmanned flight vehicle design and testing.
6 ) Professor of Practice position at the level of assistant professor, with an emphasis on engineering design and manufacturing related courses, including the senior undergraduate capstone design sequence.
7 ) ARC Director to provide leadership and vision for the Aerospace Research Center (ARC).
8 ) Tenure-track faculty appointment, with a focus on candidates working at the intersection of Engineering and Social Justice.
9 ) Tenure-track associate or full tenure-track faculty position with a focus on candidates working in the broad disciplinary area of applied mechanics.
10 ) Tenure-track assistant faculty position in the areas of laser-based additive manufacturing, manufacturing process/structure/property relationships, and the application of data-science to manufacturing. This will be a split appointment, with a 75% appointment in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and 25% in Industrial Systems Engineering.
