Dr. Clifford Whitfield is Associate Professor of Practice and Aerospace Engineering Program Director for the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He has been a faculty member at Ohio State since 2009. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at Ohio State before joining the department as a faculty of practice.

Dr. Whitfield is Owner and Design and Test Engineer for Whitfield Aerospace LLC. His professional practice provides design and testing support of novel aircraft enabled by new methods and technologies, and provides exciting avenues for graduate and undergraduate student research in his design research group.
