Buckeye Vertical student organization announces autumn speaker series

Buckeye Vertical, a student organization at The Ohio State University focused on exploring advanced air mobility (AAM), urban air mobility (UAM) and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) will host the group’s signature speaker series during autumn semester 2021.

According to the group, the Buckeye Vertical Lecture Series will explore AAM, UAM and UAS in a variety of aspects and the future of this rapidly growing sector. The goal of the series is to provide students the opportunity to explore and understand the field through professional development opportunities. It complements Buckeye Vertical’s project-based competitions that aim to foster a platform for academic enrichment and excellence.

Speakers include experts from the fields of aviation and aerospace, including industry, military and academia. All members of the Ohio State community are welcome to attend the presentations, and attendance is also open to professionals outside of the Ohio State network.

President of Buckeye Vertical, aerospace engineering student Adithya Ramaswami, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming series. “Our events are open to anyone, and our goal is to give students a platform to learn and critically think about Advanced Air Mobility, Urban Air Mobility and Unmanned Aircraft Systems on a diverse range of topics in this rapidly evolving field,” he said.

The lecture series, which is virtual this semester, begins Wednesday, September 1, 6-7pm with speaker Carl Dietrich, founder and president of Jump Aero Incorporated. Register to attend by visiting go.osu.edu/buckeye_vertical_4.
