Aerospace engineering graduate student, Wayne Page, has received a National Defense Science and Engineering (NDSEG) Fellowship Award. Page is advised by MAE professor, Jeffrey Sutton.

The Department of Defense (DoD) NDSEG fellowship program was established in 1989, and aims to increase the number of United States citizens trained in science and engineering disciplines of military importance, according to its website.

Page’s work will focus on developing a high-resolution velocimetry technique using wavelet-based optical flow to perform three-dimensional velocity measurements on complex, turbulent flows.

“It means a lot to me and has been an honor to receive the NDSEG fellowship,” said Page. “It has also provided a confirmation for me that I picked the right path and has reinforced my excitement for research.”

According to the NDSEG website, the fellowship covers full tuition and mandatory fees. Page said he is enthusiastic about the research opportunities that will help him complete his PhD during the course of his fellowship.
