Dr. Mei Zhuang Joins the Faculty

Posted:

The Aerospace Engineering department is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Mei Zhuang.  Zhuang joined the department Autumn Quarter 2008 as Professor. She came to OSU from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University where she was been a faculty member for fifteen years.

Zhuang received her PhD and MS degrees in aeronautics from Caltech. She then served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan prior to joining the faculty there. Her primary research interests are in aeroacoustics, mathematical models, and computational methods for aerodynamic noise prediction, and noise prediction and reduction technologies for aircraft propulsion systems.  Dr. Zhuang was named a Fulbright Senior Scholar in April 2003. She was then invited as a visiting professor to teach and conduct research in the area of computational aeroacoustics at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany for the academic year 2003 – 2004.

Dr. Zhuang is currently a member of MACCAS (Michigan/AFRL Collaborative Center in Aeronautical Sciences) and is involved in the project of low Reynolds number aerodynamic flows over flexible/flapping wing vehicles. She is an associate fellow of AIAA and currently she serves on Aeroacoustics Technical Committee of the AIAA.
