Bhushan Awarded Honorary Doctorate

On the initiative of the faculty of mechanical engineering at the University of Kragujevac in Serbia, Professor Bharat Bhushan, Ohio Eminent Scholar and the Howard D. Winbigler Professor, has been awarded an honorary doctorate. The degree comes in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the advancement of engineering sciences and bio/nano technologies as well as his contribution to the development of the faculty of mechanical engineering in Kragujevac. Bestowal of the honorary degree was approved by the University of Kragujevac Senate at the end of June. A date for the award ceremony is yet to be determined.

Professor Bhushan has been a member of the mechanical engineering faculty at The Ohio State University since 1991. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Birla Institute of Technology & Science – Pilani; master’s degrees from the University of Colorado and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; and a PhD from the University of Colorado. In addition, he has previously received an Honorary Doctorate from Metal-Polymer Research Institute of National Academy of Science, located in Gomel, Belarus; a Doctor of Technical Sciences from Warsaw University of Technology, located in Warsaw, Poland; and a Doctor Technicae from the University of Trondheim, located in Trondheim, Norway.
