Mechanical Engineering Alumnus Receives Max Jacob Memorial Award

Professor Kenneth Diller of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas, Austin, has been selected to receive the 2014 Max Jacob Memorial Award.  Considered one of the most prestigious inter-societal awards in engineering, the Max Jacob Memorial Award is presented by ASME and AIChE, and has been awarded continuously since 1961. The award recognizes eminent scholarly achievement and distinguished leadership in the field of heat transfer.

Diller received both a bachelor's degree (1966) and master's degree (1967) in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University. He is a current member of Ohio State's Mechanical Engineering External Advisory Board. Long a pioneer in the fields of heat transfer and biological heat transfer, Diller's award citation states "… In recognition of your outstanding achievements and distinguished service in the area of bioheat transfer". The award will be presented to Diller at the 15th International Heat Transfer Conference, to be held in Kyoto, Japan on August 10-15, 2014.
