Figurella Earns Michiko So Finegold Award

Mechanical engineering graduate student Neil Figurella has been notified that he has been named a Michiko So Finegold award recipient for the entry of his paper entitled, “Effect of inlet guide vanes on centrifugal compressor acoustics.” Figurella, who is advised by Professor Ahmet Selamet, will receive his award at a dinner scheduled during Noise-Con 2013, to be held in Denver, Colorado August 26-28. Figurell's award consists of a certificate and a check for $555 (USD).
The award, which was newly established this year, supports graduate students and young professionals in the fields of noise control engineering, noise effects research and development of noise policies by facilitating their travel to national and international professional meetings and conferences.
