Two Firsts for ME Students at Denman

Two of the three first place awards within the engineering competition category of the March 28 Denman Undergraduate Research Forum were earned by mechanical engineering students. Michael Vignos' presentation "Development of Surgical Navigation Device for Arthroscopic Cartilage Repair" and Luke DeBruin's "Energy & Feasibility Analysis of Gasoline Engine Start/Stop Technology" presentation were among the poster presentations to earn top honors. Vignos, a senior in Biomedical Engineering, is also in the BS to MS program in Mechanical Engineering. He is advised by Assistant Professor Rob Siston. DeBruin is advised by Assistant Professor Marcello Canova. In addition, Sarah Watzman, who is advised by Professor Joseph Heremans, earned one of the third place awards in the Engineering category of the competition.  Her presentation, titled "Design of a Solar Thermoelectric Generator" was among the three third-place finishers.
