Dr. Rajendra Singh, a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, has been elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA (INCE/USA). The INCE Fellow rank honors (and recognizes publicly) any member who has rendered valuable service to the Institute and has made a "notable or distinguished contribution to the advancement of noise control engineering or notably promoted knowledge of noise control engineering." Dr. Singh is among the first of "outstanding members" to be elected. With this, Prof. Singh now holds the fellow grade in 4 professional societies; the other three include the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Acoustical Society of America (ASA), and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Dr. Singh holds the distinguished "Donald D. Glower" chair in the college of engineering and is the Director of the NSF Smart Vehicle Concepts Center and the Acoustics and Dynamics Laboratory. Dr. Singh is well recognized for research in machinery and vehicle noise sources and structural paths, and in particular for seminal work on gear dynamics and acoustics. He has published more than 350 articles including 174 journal articles. Dr. Singh has also developed an innovative, engineering practice type graduate course sequence in automotive noise and vibration control in partnership with General Motors.  He has received several national awards for excellence in engineering education, including the Westinghouse award from ASEE. Dr. Singh served as the President of the INCE/USA in 2003 and is currently the I-INCE Vice-President of Technical Activities in the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE).

The Mechanical Engineering Department at The Ohio State University congratulates Dr. Singh for his outstanding achievements and for his election as a Fellow of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA.
