OSU Mini Baja Team Wins 2nd Place in SAE Functional Digital Car Award Competition!

Posted:

The Ohio State University Baja team is a student organization that applies engineering principles to the task of designing and building a single-seat off-road vehicle that will survive the severe punishment of the most extreme terrain. The team competes in three annual events, sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Several of the team members are ME undergraduate students. Mechanical Engineering Professor Dan Mendelsohn, is their faculty advisor.

During the 2001-2002 season, Baja designed and built two vehicles (pictured above), receiving a 2nd Place SAE Functional Digital Car Award (ADAMS Vehicle Modeling) as a shared prize for two competitions. Their results at other events in the SAE Mini Baja Design Series are available on their website at http://www.osubaja.com/. The team's goal for next year is a Top 10 finish in the series. Congratulations to the OSU Baja Team for their success and good luck with the upcoming season!
