Science Sundays: Lessons from Nature: Bio-inspired Surfaces for Green Science and Technology

Prof. Bharat Bhushan presents cutting-edge research at a free public lecture hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences
Sunday, October 14, 2018, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Ohio Union
U.S. Bank Conference Theatre
1739 N High St
Columbus, OH 43210

Mechanical engineering professor Bharat Bhushan discusses the emerging field of biomimetics, in which scientists mimic structures and processes found in biology or nature to develop nanomaterials, nanodevices and systems with desirable properties. The resulting inventions are eco-friendly, with minimum human impact on the environment, and are being explored for various commercial applications.

Professor Bharat Bhushan is an Ohio Eminent Scholar and the Howard D. Winbigler Professor at The Ohio State University College of Engineering, where he also serves as director of the Nanoprobe Laboratory for Bio- & Nanotechnology and Biomimetics. Bhushan holds two master’s degrees, a PhD in mechanical engineering/mechanics, an MBA and four honorary doctorates.
