Kinematics and Mechanism Design (3751)

Description

  • This course is intended to help students develop an intuitive understanding of the design concepts for machinery and mechanisms. Topics covered are: kinematic joints, mobility analysis, kinematic synthesis of planar linkages, computer-aided design of mechanisms, kinematic analysis, Cam motion program synthesis, and cam profile design. Prereq: 2030 and 2900, or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 3670 (Au17 or before), 3553, or 553. Units: 2 credit hours.
