Introduction to the Finite Element Method (5068)
- Introduces the fundamental mathematical and numerical concepts of the finite element method applied to linear problems. It emphasizes variational formulations with hands-on understanding of how finite element methods work. Prereq: 2850 (250) or CivilEn 2060 (406) or Math 2568 (568), or equiv, or Grad standing in Engineering. Not open to students with credit for 768, CivilEn 5168 (768), or Math 5168. Cross-listed in CivilEn 5168 and Math 5168. Units: 3 credit hours.
