Biography

Jacob Pellicotte is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University. He obtained a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

Jacob is a Graduate Research Assistant with the Materials at Extremes (MATX) which focuses on advanced manufacturing, testing & characterization, and theoretical mechanics of materials subject to thermal, mechanical, and chemical extremes. His research has been sponsored by DOE-NETL, AFRL, and UTEP-NASA Aerospace Center.

Current research involves the development of advanced testing methods for the rapid qualification of high-temperature resistant materials. Research is supported through testing using electromechanical and servo-hydraulic machines for creep and fatigue interactions. Materials of interest include: additively manufactured (AM) titanium and superalloys alloys, conventional low Cr alloys, and stainless steels.
