Khattak, Mohid

Biography

I am a PhD student at The Ohio State University under Dr. Marcelo Dapino at the Smart Materials and Structures Laboratory. My research interests include intelligent materials and systems for structural health monitoring with applications in automotive, aerospace, and general infrastructure. I have a master’s in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech, during which my research was focused on harvesting energy from vibrations while simultaneously mitigating them using metastructures. As a result, I have significant experience in MATLAB, data acquisition and analysis. Additionally, I am also adept in scientific writing, as evidenced by my publications.

My career aspirations lie in industrial research and development pertaining to smart structures. I want to create an impact in my field that affects my surroundings particularly the environment and the people: inventing and introducing new products influential to society now, and in the future. I want to work in the industry where continuous research is being conducted to bring about improvements; learning as I go and producing results when required the most.

Generally, I am a happy-go-lucky guy and rules define me. Integrity, honesty, punctuality, discipline and team work define my character.
