Hossain, Md Abir

Biography

Md Abir Hossain is a Ph.D. student in the mechanical and aerospace engineering department at The Ohio State University, specializing in theory development, modeling and simulation, mechanical testing, and advanced manufacturing for elevated temperature applications. His current research involves the development of probabilistic life prediction tools by incorporating the sources of uncertainty, human-in-the-loop Machine Learning (HITL-ML) for high-throughput modeling, low-cost manufacturing of next-generation candidate alloys, and accelerated screening and qualification of metallic materials. He authored 12+ scholarly articles in these areas that are published in reputed journals, presented at peer-reviewed conferences, and submitted as annual reports. His research has been sponsored by DOE-NETL, AFRL, and UTEP-NASA Aerospace Center. He obtained his MS from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in August 2020 with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering and BS from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in March 2016 with a concentration in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
