An Ohio State team of researchers were awarded the Lumley Interdisciplinary Research Award by the College of Engineering Honors, Honorary Degrees, and Awards Committee at the Annual Faculty Awards Banquet on April 27.

The team led by Shaurya Prakash, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering consists of Daniel Wozniak from the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity, Paul Stoodley from the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity, Raghu Machiraju from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Traci Wilgus from the Department of Pathology were given the award for their transformative discoveries in understanding and developing the use of electroceutical dressings for wound healing.

The Lumley Engineering Research Awards are presented to a select group of outstanding researchers in the College of Engineering who have shown exceptional ability and success in pursuing research of a fundamental or applied nature. This team's research has led to team publications, collaborative grants, and training of students across disciplines.

“Thinking about it, I think what the award means to me is that the ability to connect with world leaders at our own campus across disciplines is a unique opportunity and this team award is a reflection of the “all-stars” team we have that enables us to make high quality, high impact scientific discoveries while driving societally-relevant technology development,” Prakash said. “At the same, though this award, I am grateful to the College of the Engineering for recognizing my efforts in leading team-based science and technology.”
