Siston Named to Forty Under 40 List

Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Robert Siston has been named to Columbus Business First's 2014 Class of "Forty Under 40." He and the other 39 individuals selected for the recognition were chosen from a pool of 240 applicants. The up-and-coming professionals and community leaders will be celebrated at a gala to be held May 29 at Hollywood Casino Columbus.

Professor Siston, who directs the NeuroMuscular Biomechanics Laboratory within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has already accumulated many significant awards, including Ohio State's Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching, 2014; the David C. McCarthy Engineering Teaching Award and the Lumley Engineering Research Award, Ohio State's College of Engineering, 2013; the Richard O'Connor Research Award, Arthroscopy Association of North America, 2010; Boyer Award for Teaching Innovation, Ohio State's College of Engineering, 2010; the Teaching Excellence Award, Ohio State's Department of Mechanical Engineering, 2010; and the American Society of Biomechanics 2005 Clinical Biomechanics Award. He was also elected to attend the National Academy of Engineering's Frontiers of Engineering Education in 2010.

Each of the individuals selected for the Forty Under 40 distinction will be highlighted in a special May 30, 2014 issue of Business First. All of the 2014 honorees, who were judged on career achievements and community involvement, reside in one of the ten counties which make up central Ohio.
