Bhushan Textbooks Slated for Second Edition

The second editions of two of Professor Bharat Bhushan's text books will be published in March. The books, which include "Introduction to Tribology" and "Principles and Applications of Tribology" were originally published in 2002 and 1999, respectively.

The second edition of his introduction to tribology text introduces the major developments in the understanding and interpretation of friction, wear and lubrication as well as breakthroughs in tribology at the nano- and micro- level and recent developments in nanotechnology and magnetic storage technologies are introduced. A new chapter on the emerging field of green tribology and biomimetics is also included.

The principles and applications of tribology text includes updates on friction, wear and lubrication, as well as revised material including the latest breakthroughs in tribology at the nano- and micro- level and a revised introduction to nanotechnology. A new chapter on the emerging field of green tribology and biomimetics has been added to the book.  Both books are available through John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Bhushan is an Ohio Eminent Scholar and The Howard D. Winbigler Professor as well as Director of the Nanoprobe Laboratory for Bio- & Nanotechnology and Biomimetics at Ohio State. He is a also Fellow and Life Member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
